It all started with my love of creating natural body products and soap for my family and friends. As my passion for making soap grew, so did our happy customer base, and our product range as well.

The soaps I was making at home became popular at local markets and shops at Canungra. And when I saw a natural deodorant in my local healthfood shop, I realised I was already using some of the same ingredients, so I created my own recipe and started making deodorants too. And my customers loved them.
I really enjoy experimenting with different ingredients to find new natural fragrances and make balms and butters that nourish and moisturise. My aim is to use the best quality ingredients from as local a source as possible. To find the very best ingredients I am continually searching for Australian growers and reputable suppliers. I try to buy all-Australian essential oils from an Australian company that buys from Australian farmers. My macadamia oil is from a co-op of growers on the Mid North Coast of New South Wales and our golden jojoba is from Goondiwindi in Queensland.
I also source single-origin, direct from farmers themselves where I can — for jojoba oil, macadamia, fragonia, and hemp oil. But where that's not possible — for example, rosehip oil and shea butter have to come from overseas — I use ethical suppliers and Fairtrade farms.
My beeswax really is local - from Canungra, from Brad who lives only 5 kilometres from my house! I grow my own calendula and I grab bunches of lovely lavender from my daughter's garden when it's in bloom!
Many of our products are vegan-friendly and we don't test on animals - just family and friends! We do not use nasties like palm oil or synthetic colouring or fragrances in any of our products. And our natural deodorants are aluminium-free.
We keep our packaging minimal and use mainly amber glass jars with aluminium lids that can all be recycled. All printing is done sustainable – either on 100% post-consumer waste recycled paper, or FSC approved paper stock. And when your Beautiful Batches parcels arrive, they will be in recycled and compostable packaging.
Thank you for taking the time to get to know your local makers!
